You may have seen me post this on facebook awhile back…
I really did have every intention of making my own dog-seat cover for the car. That is, until the day I was browsing the Thursday Pet Sales on Fab and found one made for ‘all vehicle models’ on sale for $9.99. I can’t even make one for that cheap!
So of course, I leapt at the opportunity. We have an upcoming trip to Phoenix that the dogs will be joining us on, and this is going be a great way to increase everyone’s comfort along the ride (our dog travel bag helps too). The dogs already like the seat cover, because they’re less likely to slip around (compared to the leather seats in our car), and we love it because it keeps the seats clean, and scratch-free. That’s what we call a win-win.

Bear was happy to be a model for my photos this time. Anything involving the car? He’s so down.

A note regarding the materials. I was expecting the seat cover to be made of a soft cloth, much like fleece. (I guess I thought that because that’s probably one of the materials I’d have used had I made my own seat cover) so I was surprised when it arrived. It’s somewhat waterproof, and very canvas-like. All in all it seems very durable, washable, and wipeable- perfect for life with dogs!
We haven’t had a whole lot of time to try this out yet,but so far I can definitely say I’m thrilled with the fit, quality, and price of it.

We always used to use an old blanket, but it got frustrating when it would always droop down and eventually fall. What do you do to protect your seats from your dogs? How do you keep your dogs comfy and happy for a long car ride?
